Are you like me? You’ve been a successful writer on Medium.com but now fallen in love with the interface, community, profit opportunity, and general vibe of Substack?

I’ll be you are.

On Medium.com in the last 12 months, I wrote dozens of dozens of articles, garnered over 100K views and thousands in revenue… but something about Substack keeps calling me over…

If you are like most Medium Ex Pats, you’re painstakingly porting over each of your articles by the “copy and paste” method?

Who has the time???

Think about the time you could save for writing, building community, and generating paid subscribers if there was an easier way!

There is.

Now, as a researcher, I scoured Substack, the Internet, and YouTube and found an answer that works. But getting there was not intuitive, AND BEYOND that, I’ll give you a strategy (that Substack doesn’t share) that will save you, in certain cases, dozens of hours, if you’ve been like me and commented a lot (if not thousands) of people’s Medium stories.

I learned this the hard way, and I had over 1,000+ comments to painstakingly delete… and each one has to be done BY HAND. But with this strategy, what could take you hours can be done in about ten seconds.

What are those hours worth to you!!!!

This whole strategy will take you just 10 minutes, and you’ll never have to copy and paste old stories ever again.

Okay, I’m just going to share point by point, without much cute commentary, so that you can do this easily on your own.

Ready let’s go!

First, you’ll start on Medium.

  1. From any Medium page (on the desktop version), click on your Avatar icon on the top right of your page.

  2. Once it opens up the menu, click on SETTINGS.

  1. Once the settings page opens up, click SECURITY AND APPS on the far right (1)

  2. Go down to DOWNLOAD YOUR INFORMATION (2).

  1. This will open up a pop-up window where you will EXPORT YOUR CONTENT to your EMAIL ADDRESS. This can take a few minutes, so just look for the email after say 10 minutes or more.

  1. Once your have DOWNLOADED AND UNZIPPED THE FILE TO YOUR COMPUTER the folder will look like this. Now, it looks ominous but all you have to do is quick on POSTS.

Now, the Next Step is the SECRET that is going to save you hours and hours (if you are like me and social on Medium) and I’m going to put it under the paywall. Sorry for that, but this is so time saving, isn’t it worth paying for a month of my publication and I won’t be offended if you quit after that (but I hope that you don’t!).

Note: if you don’t do this, when you port to Substack EVERY SINGLE THING you’ve ever done on Medium will come over, and you would have to delete BY HAND all of them in Subtack. You don’t want to do this, trust me!

Sign up today (even for one month) to save those dozens of hours I talked about!
